Prostate cancer treatment diet
Daily Schedule
On waking up:
- Drink 500ml water and 500ml Fibogel mixture.
- Eat two slices of toast or a wholemeal flatbread.
- Drink a cup of coffee.
- Pack a banana or other similar fruit for a mid-morning snack,
plus a sandwich and a packet of crisps for lunch unless you're
planning to eat in the hospital cafeteria.
On arrival at the hospital
- Take a self-administered enema if required to do so.
- Drink 500ml water from the dispenser.
At around 10 am
- Eat your banana or other piece of fruit.
For lunch
- Eat your sandwich and the packet of crisps or buy them from the
hospital cafeteria.
- Drink 500ml water from the dispenser.
For dinner
- You can eat any combination of:
- cheese
- coleslaw
- meat: chicken, beef, ham, lamb, mutton, steak
- peppers: any colour
- potato: jacket, boiled, roasted, mashed, sweet
- rice, linguini, or pasta
- root vegetables: carrots, parsnips
- seafood: fish, prawns, trout, tuna, salmon
- toasties
- tomatoes
- DO NOT EAT OR DRINK ANY OF THESE because they generate
gas when digested)
- beans (any colour)
- beer, cider or sparkling wine
- carbonated (fizzy) drinks
- fresh or dried chillis
- eggs
- green vegetables
- lentils
- spicy food
For bedtime
- Take two 7.5mg Senna tablers, washed down with a Fybogel sachet
dispersed in a glass of water.
For Friday night
- Eggs and curry are both on the menu.
For Saturday and Sunday
- Treat these days the same as Monday through Thursday in order to
flush Friday night's digestive residues out of your lower
bowel.
